Some of the thanks we’ve received

Cancer Research UK – Over the years we have raised more than £50,000 for Cancer Research.
“We really appreciate this fantastic effort by so many cyclists, many of whom have suffered cancer themselves.”
Pam Lucas, Cancer Research UK, Hayling Island Branch
Including Cancer Research UK, we have raised over £150,000 for cancer–related charities.

S I D – The original Hayling Cycle Ride charity, which we’ve given over £7,000 since 1986.
“Fantastic fundraising! The money raised has made a big difference to our work to give babies the chance of a lifetime.”
Sarah Kenyon, Foundation For The Study Of Infant Deaths

The Rowans – The Hayling Cycle Ride has supported this local hospice since its beginning and raised more than £30,000.
“The support of community organisations like the Bike Ride is hugely important to our endeavour. We really appreciate all their efforts on our behalf and I cycle regularly on the event.”
Geoff Page, Fundraising Director, Rowans Hospice

Save the Children – Hayling Cycle Ride has donated over £8,000.
“Donations from organisations like the Paris To Hayling Charity Cycle Ride are vital. I was so impressed – I bought a bike and joined in!”
Lindsey Ewing, Save the Children, Hayling Island Branch

RNLI – Another regular beneficiary, having received over £7,000 from us.
“The RNLI Lifeboat Station on Hayling and its two Lifeboats have benefited from the ride for many years. Quite simply, their money has helped us to save lives at sea — we are extremely grateful.”

Age Concern – We’ve donated over £5,000 to our local branch over the years.
“Our Hayling members greatly appreciate the £500 given to us by ACE every Christmas, helping to provide lunch and presents.”

The Lady Taverners – One of our newer riders, Sheila Penfold, has ridden for them on the last two rides, raising over £1,200.
“The Ride’s money will help us give young people, particularly those with special needs, a sporting chance.”
