Channel to Channel ride 2026

Saturday 16th May 2026 to Sunday 17th May / Monday 18th May

We are pleased to announce details of this year’s Channel to Channel (“C2C”) event which is taking place in May 2026. After a lapse last year this will be the 25th occurrence of this very enjoyable and friendly ride.

All riders should plan to be in Salisbury the evening of Saturday 16th May where rooms are booked at The Red Lion.

There are various ways in which you may chose to reach Salisbury :

  • Some might chose to start from Bristol where rooms can be booked for Friday 15th May at the Future Inn
  • Others may chose to start from Hayling on Saturday
  • It is also likely that other routes will be organised by various participants.

After an overnight stay in Salisbury on Sunday morning (17th May) you will have the option of heading back to Hayling or to pedal onto the Isle Of Wight via the Lymington to Yarmouth ferry. On arriving in Yarmouth there will be a short ride to Newport where we will stay overnight. The following day we will have a 30 mile ride on the Island before heading back to Hayling via the Fishbourne to Portsmouth ferry. Please note all Ferry and Newport Hotel arrangements are to be sorted by riders. The following are strongly recommended:

  • Outward Ferry (from Lymington to Yarmouth): Sunday 17th May at 15:20
  • Inward Ferry (from Fishbourne to Portsmouth): Monday 18th May at 15:00

Note that tickets can be used on alternative sailings.

We suggest the Newport Hotel or Premier Inn for the stay in Newport.

Costs include your hotel in Salisbury and, if chosen, Bristol together with all support costs. Support will of course carry your baggage and alternatively for a limited number of riders starting from Bristol, bikes to that city:

Hayling Bike Ride (C2C)
Sort Code 30 93 97

This is a different account from the main ride. Please don’t make one payment for both events as that will confuse us.

Places will be allocated on a first come, first served basis when we have received your booking and payment.

Terms of entry

The following conditions apply:

  1. Participants are not required to collect sponsorship money but those not taking part in the Paris to Hayling Ride may chose to do so.
  2. There will be a collection on the Sunday in Salisbury for We See Hope and in particular to assist with the purchase of bikes for its project workers in Africa.
  3. In the event of any participant cancelling, refunds will only be made on a discretionary basis dependant on such costs as have been incurred by the organisers.
  4. The event is not a race. Riders are encouraged to travel at their own comfortable pace.
  5. Organisers have the discretion to refuse entry.
  6. In Bristol all riders will likely be accommodated in The Future Inn but if another hotel is needed it will be close by. In Salisbury unless riders otherwise indicate, they will be allocated to the Red Lion and then the Chapter House or Mercure on a “first come first served basis”.
  7. All riders are required to wear a helmet.
  8. All participants in this event do so at their own risk and accept that the organisers have no legal liability in any regard.
  9. The organisers reserve the right to impose a surcharge of up to £15 should unforeseen costs arise and/or some of the rider number assumptions made in planning prove to be wrong (note : we have never had to impose a surcharge in any previous ride).
